Kindness Can Change the World

Kindness can change the world, one kind word at a time... ~ Ginae

Think about it, one word said in kindness could change a whole situation. We've all read the stories or poems that tell the story of a person who had no hope and was contemplating suicide the day when someone random came up to them and showed them kindness. Those are not fiction stories. There are real hurts out there, and real needs. Maybe we think kindness alone could not change a thing, so we don't go our of our way to give it, - but I believe kindness given could change everything!

Let's say for example, I say something kind to the waitress at the restaurant in the morning. As she is pouring my coffee, I say thank you, and look up into her eyes. She feels I mean it - no one has said thank you, to her in a long time and meant it. My, thank you, has now just changed her demeanor. Trust me, it has. When she goes back into the kitchen she has a bounce in her step she didn't have before. Now, she is kind to another fellow employee who just dropped and broke a glass. She even offers to help clean it up. This young girl who broke the glass, really needed this help with no yelling and no judgment because, she is new and doesn't want to lose her job. And more important all she gets at home is yelling and judgment. You see where I am going with this... believe me I could go on and on. The writer in me has a book here. But, I will stop there, because you know what I'm trying to say.

I have received such kindness from people on my path. Real-to-goodness, kindness. It has made my day, changed my circumstance, helped me, guided my thoughts, and brought my focus back to where it should be. I know what a little kindness has done for me. What could a little kindness do to this whole world if we all started going out of our way and be kind to someone? If we all start off with one kind random word or deed a day. Where would it take us?

Remember an important rule here on this earth I have seen at work, - what we think we are doing for someone else is really the blessing to us. Yes, our random act or word said in kindness will come back to us in such a blessing we will begin to find the secret treasure, - that for the most part, we are all to busy to notice and miss out on.

Kindness is more important than wisdom, and the recognition of this is the beginning of wisdom. ~Theodore Rubin

Most of us would all say we all would like to change the world. Some of us, when we were a little child wanted to be the President of our country, a doctor, a nurse, or someone who had the power to help, and the power to make a difference.

Well, we do have the power to make a difference, the power to change our world. Kindness.

It is as simple as that today, our small act of kindness will change the world in a very big way.

We can start the kindness wave today, and make a difference.

And be you kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake has forgiven you. Eph. 4:32
