Is Your Worrying Drowning Out Thankfulness?
Do you find yourself worrying about your relationships, your job or your income situation? Are you worrying about things that haven't even happened? You're not alone. There's a lot of worrying going on out in the world. We can find ourselves worrying about everything if we don't take control of our thoughts. But does worrying get us anywhere? The answer is no. And even though most of us know that worrying doesn't do one thing towards the goal, we still can find ourselves doing it.
So, why do we continue? How do we stop? Those are great questions that we need to ask ourselves and find the answer that will work for each of us!
The thought of the day is that
worrying takes our thankfulness
away. When we worry we can't be
thankful at the same time. This piece of wisdom was like a "Wow!"
Having this knowledge hit home in the ole' brain is enough for me to make a conscious decision to take control of my thoughts when I find myself worrying about something.
Good idea right?
Making a conscious effort to change every worry thought into a thankful thought will change up our day! From experience, thankfulness is the game changer in most situations, relationships,
How do we be thankful in situations that we most normally worry in? It is a mental thought change. We need to remember something in the past, those times when we got through an impossible situation, and stir up that faith. We will need to think on good things, speak good things and challenge the situation that is making us stressful by being thankful instead of worrying about it. Is that easy? No, maybe not, but it will be helpful to us if we learn this. The one thing I see in this life is good things seem to attract good things. So, we can help ourselves by being thankful instead of worrying. Worrying will choke out our thankfulness, it will take away any ability to be thankful.
An unthankful person is hard to be around, don't you agree? - Let us all not be one!
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. ~ Philippians 4:6-7
